Privacy Policy

We believe privacy policies should be readable by humans, not just lawyers. So here's ours — in plain English.

Last updated: April 2026

The short version

We don't track you. We don't sell your data. We don't use cookies. We don't know who you are when you visit. This platform was built to serve open research — not to monetize attention.

📋 What we do collect

  • ·Survey responses you choose to submit (anonymous, no identifying information attached)
  • ·Name, email, and research interest if you apply to create a survey (used only to process your application)
  • ·Email address if you support us on Ko-fi (handled entirely by Ko-fi, not us)

🚫 What we never collect

  • ·IP addresses
  • ·Cookies or tracking pixels
  • ·Keystroke or behavioural data
  • ·Device or browser fingerprints
  • ·Location data
  • ·Anything we don't explicitly need

Survey responses

All survey responses are completely anonymous. When you respond to a survey, your answers are stored in our database with no connection to your identity — no IP address, no session ID, no timestamp linked to you personally. We have no way to identify who submitted any given response, and that is by design.

Survey results, when made public by the survey creator, are published in aggregate form. Individual responses are never displayed in a way that could identify a person.

Contributor applications

If you apply to create a survey, we collect your name, email address, affiliation, and research interest. This information is used solely to review your application and send you an access link if approved. We do not share this information with third parties, use it for marketing, or retain it longer than necessary.

Your name and affiliation may appear publicly on surveys you create, as attribution for your research. You control what you provide.

Email

We send transactional emails only — application confirmations, approval notifications, and access links. We do not send newsletters, promotional emails, or any unsolicited communication. Our email is delivered via Resend, whose privacy policy governs their handling of delivery data.

Third-party services

This platform uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, and edge network. Cloudflare may log request metadata at the infrastructure level per their standard terms.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Ko-fi — optional supporter payments. Ko-fi handles all payment processing and their privacy policy governs any data you provide them.
  • Google Fonts — typeface loading. Google may log font requests per their standard terms.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other behavioural tracking or advertising technology.

Data retention

Survey responses are retained for as long as the survey is active and the dataset has research value. Contributor application data is retained for as long as the contributor account is active. If you would like your data removed, contact us and we will action it promptly.

Your rights

You have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, and to withdraw any consent you have given. Because survey responses are anonymous, we cannot identify or retrieve individual responses — this is a privacy feature, not a limitation.

If you are in the EU or UK, you also have rights under GDPR and UK GDPR respectively. We are committed to honouring these rights.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will never introduce data collection practices that contradict the spirit of this document — this platform was built on the principle of open, trustworthy research.
